We celebrated the Festival of Transcendence in Spring 2006, and hope to make it an annual event at OSU!
May 15th, 2005, we had a visiting speaker from Bombay, India: Govinda das is a disciple at a seminary in Bombay, India. He frequently speaks at premier engineering schools in India. He will be in Columbus this Thursday and Friday, and speaking with the curious and interested.
On the coming Sunday, Radhanath Swami (left in the picture) will be interacting with people at a Temple right here on campus (West 8th Avenue). A “swami” is a renounced monk who has dedicated his life to practicing and teaching spiritual yoga. Born in Chicago, His Holiness Radhanath Swami traveled widely studying different religions, and finally accepted initiation into the Vaishnav religion in India while still in his twenties. Since then he has been a source of inspiration and guidance to many thousands of ordinary people apart from his initiated disciples. This is a unique chance to associate with him, listen to his discourse, and ask questions. Dinner will be served. Its all FREE.
